Food Safety

Summertime is here, so let the BBQ begins, but remember to follow 4 food safety tips according to Health Canada that will keep you and your family safe.

Step 1:  Clean (wash and sanitize all surfaces, pots, utensils and last but not least YOUR hands after touching unclean surfaces etc.

Step 2: Separate (to avoid contamination keep uncooked foods especially raw meats, fish away from ready to eat foods and salads)

Step 3: Cook (cook all meats e.g. hamburger to an internal temperature of at least 71 degrees Celsius or higher or until there is no pink and juice runs clean. You can use a probe thermometer)

Step 4: Chill ( refrigerate promptly after cooling any leftover and use leftover within 2-3 days)

Have a happy and safe summer!!
